�doktor cocacolamcdonalds (small d) explains all� is the latest spectacle brought to you by clown prince of capitalism Dr CC McD. Over the past three years the doktor has supported the cream of the US underground rock scene bringing some much needed humour to a genre of music that takes itself way too seriously. Last year he entertained audiences at the Leicester Comedy Festival and got a big break by answering a newspaper advert and turning up to an event which found him becoming a finalist in the Jimmy Carr Comedy Idol 2005. The doktor induced fits of laughter to a packed out Comedy Store in London. His performance appeared on the extras to Jimmy Carr�s latest DVD Stand Up. The doktor�s full name was too controversial for Channel 4 who BANNED it from appearing anywhere on the DVD. The lawyers had been consulted and they said NO! Which raises the question... If you can make fun of the world�s biggest religions, why can�t you make fun of the world�s biggest companies?

In his act the doktor uses elements of guitar, trombone, Casio keyboards, laptop computer and acappella to put across his world view. Song�s vary from what kind of person joins the armed forces, his obsession and stalking of the actor Gene Hackman and what he think�s of people who take their children to McDonalds. The show also focuses on end the world and why we should celebrating and not running to hills with armfuls of tinned goods, bottled water and a AK-47!

In everyday life the doktor is actually Paul Bird, a mild-mannered student hall manager from Derby. Paul in another existence was moo twinkie from the band twinkie (small t). Over the years he has played in various bands, had National and International airplay, done several sessions for the late great John Peel. Also had great reviews from Plan B, NME, Time Out and Record Collector.

The doktor will be making his Edinburgh Fringe debut at the Holyrood
